Ok, i have the Verge psone screen, it has worked great until recently, i redesigned my case, and rewired things. Now when I turn on the playstation the screen cylcles and in the back i can see the playstation logo. I fear that this is a voltage problem, since the Verge screen has its own external dc conversion board.
Anyone have ideas on how to bypass this board, i am afraid when i rewired things i may have messed up the polarity to it and blew it. I cant input 7.5 volts like a normal psone screen, this board is slightly modified, so it wont work right.
I can rebuild this little board, but what a waste of time. Does anyone know exactly all the differences of the psone board and the verge board? maybe i can attach a diode and remove a capaciter and convert back to psone input style???

hmmm, i didnt figure that would work. I've tried inputing 7.5 volts like you would on a psone screen and got the same result... Does your screen have large capaciter sticking out the back, unlike the psone.
I just figured they had changed the way the voltage is input to the screen, since where the verge factory input goes to is where sony put a diode???
I wonder what else could be wrong... I lost my multimeter, and now am back at college, so i cant test anything until i get one.

I have the Verge screen, and it IS a standard PSOne screen. You dont need the original power conveter thats in the base. Just search the forums for LM317 and get the info you need to make a "power supply". The LM317 can accept up to 12V and spit out any volage you need. Set it up so it doesnt output more than 8.5V. When i put anything above 8.2V on my screen, the colors invert and contrast doesnt exist. This power supply will also act as minor protection if you hook things up backwards. Intead of blowing the internal 7808 regulator, you will blow out the easy to replace LM317.
All the pins to the PSOne screen connectors are on the Verge screen. If you want to use the info others have gather'd to attach the A/V inputs to the PSOne, that will work as well. I can verify this for a fact. Check out the stickey in this forum for more info.

yeah, the capacitor hanging off is just for smoothing output voltage ripple...not really necessary. The extra board thing isnt needed either. I bought three of themdaguuy wrote:just get rid of all the extra stuff and solder the power and stuff directly to the pins on the bottom, that way it's just like a standard psone screen

Try to slap the video input onto the board, like you would do with a PSOne screen, instead of using the input from the compnents that verge tapped into. It worked for me, kinda.

ok, i finally got it, wow that sucked. I dropped a blotch of melted solder right on the middle of the board at one point. (luckily it all stayed together and didnt stick to anything very hard.) Yet even after close inspection i missed a small piece shorting a resister out.... Whew, nice to have that fixed after a month!!! Anyway, thanks everyone for the help, i did remove the verge specific parts, and wired accoding to standard psone spec.
