Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

dreamcast web browser?

Post by daguuy »

i've got some questions about dreamcast web browser before i post it in the trading post:
1) is it free to use?
2) what is the difference between the different versions?
3) do i need to have a keyboard or is there an on-screen keyboard?
is there anything else i should know about it when concidering buying it?

1. Yes
2. Do a google search. I do know that the Sega ones in the v3 came with mp3 support.
3. No a on screen keyboard is offered. Though if you go to ebay/half you can get one for say $2.

I remember the keyboard being used for a game called "The Typing of the Dead".

I got 3.0 :)

I was pissed when I could not get into my hotmail account anymore. And yahoo chat stoped working too.

Thank god for 3.0 :)

Well the differnces in the versions are things like Java & Flash Support as well as SSL and support for the mouse.

PSO was shut down because the servers were shut down. THe Dreamcast can still go on the net because it always connected to the net and the net is not shut down.

I just got the Web Browser software at a yard sale for $1, but the CD is from 1999, so it is only V1, probably...also, it may be free to use, but will there be any charges on my phone bill? Will using it cost me in ANY way?

It just connects to the internet like a computer does, so it would cost exactly the same as web browsing on the computer.

Then I'll refer to the previous thread for connecting the DC to my broadband through a computer. ^^
