Hey, i'm new.
Hi. I'm new to this whole portable system building thing, and i might be going to buy the book today. I was wondering which is the easiest project to do first, with no experience at all? From what i've read, it seems to be the psone.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Chapter 1 in the book is called "Choosing a Game Console to Make Portable"
Basically it gives you the pros and cons of making each system.
I wouldn't say the PSone is the easiest, but it is the most desirable to me so that is what I started off with as a complete noobie here. So far I am doing well, but all I really have done is removing parts.
I suggest getting the book, read the first chapter, look over the rest, and then decide what you want to do.

Usually, the system-on-a-chip consoles are the easiest to work with, due to the low power needs and the relatively small size of the boards. Start with something like a Radica Genesis or a pirate Nintendo system, or a PSone if you feel more ambitious.

The best thing about the radica is that it alread has everything there, with wires attached.

Im making my Radica NOAC hybrid. But, I'm getting the PSone/screen combo from Gamestop, so I'll be making a PSonep too I suppose. I have an N64, so I guess I'll carry on with that at some point.
