page 459, step 2 question

Post by High_Noonan »

OK, here is what I am talking about.
It seems that my left-hand "Y" spot is just a hole. Because of this, I am afeared of making a connection to it.

This is my board revision, if it helps:

This is a shot of the 4x4 board (again, not sure if this will help):

This is the dreaded left-hand "Y" spot, in the dead center of the picture:

And this is the right-hand "Y" spot:

I read the new composite video hack guide, so I know that this is a type A board.

What I need to know is do I make the "Y" connections using this hole?

It seems from the book you just connect the two "y"'s together.

Even though the left y spot looks like it's just a hole, it's not. It's a via transferring the signal to the other side of the pcb.

AHHHHH! So, basically, how much wire should I pull thru there? Just a nub? I just took another look at it in the day light (the sun came out!) and it really is a hole. Does the resistor that is covering the hole eventually get removed? I know that some of the resistors in that area do.
