So I have been searching the forums and wanted to know what are some of the best things to use to cover the componets in the bottom. I guess you would call it the middle of the laptop. I need some cheap and sturdy, almost finished with my laptop just waiting on the case.

I use Komatex, its cheap and sturdy at the same time. one 1/4'' sheet should get it done for you.
