Post by T_T_ »

would it be possible to use the psp nub (http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9426)
in the gamecube controller? if so, what pins would go where?

It should be do-able, at least for the c stick. Not sure about the nintendo controllers, but my third party ebay controller is like this for the c stick.....

that's a picture of a nintendo controller. Again, not positive this is right for an official controller.

Isn't the whole idea of using this because it's small?

In my case no... because I like them because they're flat or flush... So I like 3ds or pandora sized ones but not psp sized nubs.

In messing with a psp nub, I noticed that the resistance isn't the same going in both directions of X and Y. It's got some weird thing going on, but I don't remember details right now. I just remember that it doesn't fall at half the voltage when the nub is centered like a regular stick would. I'm pretty sure I tested it properly too, maybe someone else knows a bit more about that.
