What do you guys think? Is it real, or made from the book instructions? If made from the instructions, it's pretty good

Looks like it was made from the book, with a purchaced kit. Note Ben's name never showed up in the auction listing. And I don't think Ben actually sold that version as a pre-assembled unit.

But that is the authentic design.

Must have built it wrong.

I remember how someone was selling Ben's second controller on ebay and they thought it was a prototype that never made it past that stage.

I've compared the pic from the auction to Ben's in the portables section and I have to say if anyone but made it they copied the design to a "T".
