I'm new to this forum, if that matters
I was looking at the newest 360 laptop, I actually found it when google decided to finish my sentence for me the other night. Now I was amazed at how well this thing was made, but I have a few questions about it.
1) How much would it cost to build?
2) What are the chances of getting the red ring?
3) Does the disc drive still eat the discs when the whole thing's moved slightly over?
I have no intentions on making this myself, I'd end up messing up halfway through.

here is a link to ben hecks sales page.
Amazing stuff is not cheep, but if you like projects like this and you dont want to shell out 2-3 grand, you should do it yourself and find ways to cut the price down (like use a briefcase instead of a custom shell)

Laptops usually start around $2000.
Design labor rate on custom jobs of $100 US dollars/hour.
Average cost of a small custom case / enclosure is around $150 of the total cost. Laptop-style units are much more.
LCD screens costs - Around $100 for small portables, $150 for medium-sized (like the Wii laptop) and $250 for laptop-sized.
Assorted electronics and support circuitry - $25+. This does not include batteries.
Assembly labor rate is $100 US dollars/hour.
Cost of original hardware (the system you want hacked) is not included and typically I request customer buys and sends this to me.

Re: Xbox 360 laptop
Is collinE's one still for sale?
That is extreamly well made and not to expensive
An xbox 360 will always get rrod sometime in its life, no matter what you do.
Seeing as the disc tray is still stock i would say, yes the disc could get scratched.
And there is NO permanent rrod fix
