Who strips wires with their teeth?
I was just wondering if anyone else does it... or is it just me?
Up to a certain gauge of course it's not a good idea (unless you're a shark) but thinner wires (like IDE) aren't so bad...
So what do you think?

Its way to much of a hassle to deal with cutting around the plastic with a knife, I just bite off the ends, so much easier, and no risk of cuts.

I hope you don't do that with the Phoenix line!
But yeah, I do strip wires that way. Sometimes it's just easier than getting the tool. (Like when I have a hot soldering iorn in one hand and the work in the other.) Just don't bite the insulation off of wires with solder on them! (It tastes nasty.)

I do sometimes, but usually I just use one of the 5 wire strippers that I "borrowed" from the electronics room last year.
Make sure that you bring the right hand to your mouth. *Bites down on soldering iron* *ZAP* *BURN* *SIZZLE*bicostp wrote:Like when I have a hot soldering iorn in one hand and the work in the other

There's a couple thick wires in a Phoenix that I use my snippers to strip, EVERYTHING ELSE I strip the ends with my teeth. Even right now I have a bit of plastic stuck between a tooth I've been trying to work out all evening (Might have to resort to toothpicks!)
It's just so much faster, as Peppers says it's something "built into" your body, a feature! Grabbing a tool, holding it to the wire, gripping the wire and pulling is WAY slower than just biting it and yanking it out.
