Cuz that's what it looks like! Anyway, standard wireless controller than can turn the system on are a great idea since everything else is remote controlled, and the game you want to play is usually already in the system.
Aside from that, it seems to me they've just thrown a bunch of high power stuff in, who cares how much money they loose per unit, you know? They probably think they'll get their 1 year jump on Sony like PS2 had on the Xbox but for my money it's gonna be more like the Dreamcast's 1 year jump on the PS2.
If something comes out TOO soon (cough cough 4 years, like the Saturn-Dreamcast) I think people automatically assume it's not advanced enough and a bit of a gimmick. So I'm predicting NOW that the Xbox 360 (which is STILL the dumbest name ever, I mean, c'mon, do a 360 and you're right back to where you started! But 180 is less than 360 in numbers) will fail. Big launch, then PS3 creams it.

Yes, but it will get all the christmas shoppers looking for an easy expensive gift to give to their greedy kids. PS3 however, if it doesnt make it in this christmas will have no one to buy it because theyve just bought a $300 system. If PS3 comes out before this christmas (which they should try to do, unlike with the PSP) or shoot for next christmas they will definitly win. However we should see what the PS3 is gonna be like first, because you cant automatically assume that it will be undeniably better than the X360, though it probably will be.

"Apple Xbox"? Oooohh, Micro$oft is so BURNED!
I think the whole "wireless controllers standard" thing is kind of pointless. Sure, you could be sitting aqccross the house playing Foroza Motorsport 4 on your 70" projection TV, but what if the batteries died in the middle of a race? VROOOOMMMM BANG! CRASH! 'SPLODE! That's what!
And if the signal strength is high enough or an antenna is hacked onto the controller, couldn't someone hijack your Xbox 360 and start racing laps from the street, or even next door? (it could happen with a signal amplifier like the industrial one I have in the garage.)
Yeah, it is coming out a tad bit early. Why do you think the Dreamcast failed, while the GameCube has essentially the same graphics? Because we were not ready for it yet. Some people (like me) won't buy a system until it has a good foothold on the market, but the companies won't invest a lot of time and money into a system that has not taken off yet. Therein we have a paradox. They should have waited a bit longer than 4 years until they unveiled the new system.
The Playstation, NES, and Genesis all were sucessful, and the developers got all they could out of them before they released a new system. With the Saturn and the Dreamcast, there was not enough of a market for them when they were released, because the older system was still popular. But if the companies wait a while, people will begin to notice the limitations of the game hardware and will want a new console more.
I don't even know where I'm going with this anymore.
That's it. Rant over.

I know the Dreamcast has better graphics. It's a 128-bit system.
That's not the point of my rant at all. I was using those systems as examples for "they're releasing the systems topo close together".

Ok.... but the systems' graphics are irrelevant to my rant anyways.

It would be fun to start racing on someones game from the street, but it would be hard to find someone playing multiplayer, and be close enought to see the TV

No, made in America by illegally immigrated Mexicans. (That's beginning to be a major problem)
