would a wire that is to thin to work have any effect on the hardware when you ran it and it didn't work?
I am doing the gd-rom relocation for i have a rev 1 dreamcast. i was thinking about using a IDE cable, and if it isn't thick enough to support it would it break the system? Even if its not really strong i still want to try to use it.
Thanks!

Re: Thickness of wire?
Most lines for data like controller and video lines. But for power you need thicker wire, don't go any lower then 20AWG (american wire guage, the bigger the number the smaller the wire)
