Quick Question

I've been charging my batteries for about 10 minutes, so I turned on the guts to see if they work, but the screen acted as if it were getting a signal, but it went pure white and didn't do anything else but show up white and make a high-pitched noise. Is this normal for batteries only charged for 10 minutes, or is this a sign that something's wrong?

I think I fixed the problem, but before I could test, I heard a crack-like sound on the left side of the screen and now it won't work. Is it possible that I fried it, or did something go wrong with the mobo?
