Post by TheGeneral »

If i am building an n64p and i am leaving the controller ports on with an internal controller is there a way to make a switch to go from the internal controller to the 1st player port?

Just put ta switch on the 3.3v controller line for the internal controller and the external controller.

I guess this could work, I always put the switch on the data line.

Switch on Power rather than data means the controller won't waste power, but it's probably minimal.

I dont think you would need any kind of special switch. Just use a slider or toggle that has 3 pins and not 2 (So you can hook both up)

Use a SPDT switch. Lever ones are great because you can mount them inside the controller port so when you plug something in, the switch flips and the power changes to the external controller automatically.
