gamecube portable

Post by omegabullit »

Would it be possible to take apart a GC, and lay all the parts out in a format that would have them next to each other, instead of stacked? That way you could make a laptop style case, that has liek, the disc drive on top, and then a flip screen or sumthing. It might work, if sumone could tell me how the different parts of the GC are connected.

sure, it's possible. It's actually quite easy to figure out how things are connected. You just need to look. Also, since you seem to be new around here, take a look around http://www.doomportables.org

Im not too new. Ive lurked on classicgaming.com/vcsp since EGM had a little tiny square in there one mag bout the site maybe 4 years ago. ive often thought about dwelling into a portable. I've done some xbox mods, and I'm jus kinda thinking about a project to do. I got my GC sittin there collecting dust, and thought maybe foolin around with it would be cool.

well, to say the least that's a very good cad drawing, but that's all it is.

Anyways, I'm not sure how the ribbon cables are laid out, but it shouldn't be too hard, and if you have the right equipment you can even extend the ribbon cables.

The gcp ds prototype was official though, was used as a news reference a few times. DS was supposed to stand for Dual System.

1 - Dont believe everything that claims to be "news".
2 - DS stands for developers system, not dual screen. But dont worry, cause most people make that mistake...

^Exept for the fact its porportioned all wrong. The screen is the size of a gba cart. And a GC disc is definatly NOT the same size as a gba cart.
