Revision Differences in US N64s

Post by Hornpipe2 »

Search function is turning up little concrete evidence here, so I figured I will just ask away.
Does anyone have some kind of definitive answer about the various board revisions of the N64? Specifically regarding power consumption, heat output, overclock-ability, reliability, minimization, and what cases tend to go with what board revision?

Yes, I did. This is helpful re: RGB modding. I can't get much more information than that though.

I'm essentially trying to figure what tradeoffs I might expect when trying to choose a console for an N64p. So for example: a later revision may be more choppable, run cooler and could be overclocked - but it is harder to work with and doesn't give RGB. (This is just an example). What model do people generally look for?
