Choosing PCM circuits for Li-ion pack

Post by doctorjames »

I have eight 3.7V Li-ion cells that I pulled from a 14.8V 3800mAh battery pack. They are good cylindrical cells and I was thinking about making two seperate 7.4V 3800mAh packs for portables and what not. I was planning on using a simple PCM from batteryspace.com and was hoping I could use it in the new packs. The only question I have is whether I can use multiple cells in parallel and wire that up as one cell (i.e. two 3.7V cells in parallel as each "cell") on the PCM. What's the answer gang?

(little Paul G. Hewitt reference haha  )
