Re: WTB: MAC OS leopard ( upgrade from tiger )
Snow Leopard is coming in three months, why upgrade today?
The upgrade DVD that was packed-in October/November 2007 with new Macs has issues with PPC hardware, it doesn't always recognize your Tiger install, and the grey pack-in discs with Leopard won't work with PPC at all. If you get grey discs, they're only useful for the hardware they came with; Mac Pro discs aren't any good for a white MacBook, stuff like that. Above mentioned Snow Leopard will not be PPC-compatible. I don't endorse piracy, but if you download an image of Leopard and mount it to a thumb drive or hard drive, if you want it to install on PPC, you have to restore the image to the drive from a PPC Mac.
