The Nortendo 64p WIP

Post by Nortier »

So I cant seem to finish any project and have skipped around from three different never finishing one, but thats another story. I am making this worklog so I can hopefully be more dedicated to one project and finish it. I have the controller extended and put in the case. The start and a button part pops of when i was testing everything so i got to put that back on. Back side

Heres the back half of the case. I have both shoulder buttons and the z button.
Image Image
Both half put together, overall its pretty thin but the case is a little big.
Image Image
I am using a portable dvd player screen
Image Image
Whats that? A playstation controller port on a dvd player?!?
Image Image
Its and ipod adapter that was built in to the dvd player that i rewired to a playstation port.
Image Image
Now I can have the plug on the outside and then plug the dock in when i want to.

Here it is not complete but with the screen laying on it so you get an idea of what its going to look like.
Image Image
Thats a fried 64 in their and the cord sticking out is just the controller cord still attached for testing purposes.

I did run into trouble while making this, i fried one 64 when it was running off batteries after i rewired the cartridge slot, it was playing a game then one of the wires poped of and shorted the board :(. But now all I have to do is install the fan, get a new 64, some case work, fix start and a buttons, and led backlight it. So thier my WIP any im going seakayaking tommorow and wont be back for a week so I wont respond for a while. Thanks for reading.

The first picture scared the living bejesus out of me, but the second to last one is nice. Good work so far.

That's sweet. The back looks a bit ugly but it's still really nice. Finish it, don't be a loser like me.

I'd have to disagree unless, you are going to see other portables, don't put in the lob64. However, if so, maybe you can have both on there, with the lob64 somewhere too.

With a LOB64 port you can save space and still use it as a home console. You need an adaptor box though, easy build.
