I used to frequent a forum where one could delete a post made by them by just hitting delete on it, and there was no trace it was ever there. Could we do the same but for moderators?

Ya, I don't trust people with the power to delete threads, but that would be a nice feature for mods, of course until we get a new sign up page.
It's stupid to think a bot can't figure out 2+3.
Also, what about the sign up pages where you have to type in the numbers and letters show in a picture, and the picture is randomly generated.
Bots aren't usually able to figure that one out.

No, there's a webcomic that uses that exact same image for every post - only the text changes (which is what I did).

But if the mods all had the powers to ban/delete, then they would all be admins, and we would have to get new mini-mods (I call n64)

I'm turning this into a petition for some kind of better captcha system, be it our old 2+2 mod (which seemed to work well), or ReCaptcha (a great one, which is free), or that one where you have to click the picture of a kitten in a 9x9 grid of random pictures.

The only other option would be to set new signups so they have to be manually approved one at a time, but that would flood all the admins' inboxes with "spambot123123lol wants to sign up!" messages.

ReCaptcha seems to be the best option, as it is used professionally and seems to work very well.
Spambots don't have eyes, anyway.
