Need help: drums. You don't have to be able to play them.

TL;DR Make me a drum beat for "Raptor".

Well, I need some good drum beats in my songs I'm making. All of mine are basic and piles of epic phail. And unless you have good recording equipment, you don't have to play them either, just be able to understand intermediate or experienced drum technique, and be able to use Acoustica Beatcraft (Obtained from btjunkie.org or similar site).

For starters, you can get a good beat for the first song I've made recorded to my standards, project name: Raptor3. (1 and 2 were full of fail). The first part I like, the second part needs work, go wild, don't use what I have as a start (except maybe the first part). If I like it, you'll get full credit, and if you want, you'll get first dibs on drum beats for all future songs (the next three future songs will be the ones posted up there, but reworked. Please, ignore the vocals in "money". I was experimenting. It was fail.)

Also, tell me if that bass is alright, I honestly can't hear it well at all on my laptop. I think it may be a little out of tune/just sounds bad. I have no problem redoing it, either, it'll be like an hour of extra work from start to completion.

You can tell the difference in quality the microphone I got made. I picked it up for $75. Shure SM-57. Used, but get one if you have something that accepts XLR (Also a new addition to the recording system).

2011 EDIT: IF YOU'RE SEEING THIS BUMPED, DON'T POST IN IT. IT'S A SPAMBOT. THE MODS WILL TAKE CARE OF IT. IF YOU POST, THEY HAVE TO CLEAN THAT UP TOO AND IT JUST MAKES MORE OF A MESS. THANKS.

Thanks a lot! I read this, then just spend a half hour trying to find out how to use Wii Rock Band drums as an MIDI input device on Windows. I've found the software, now I need to wait for my brother to stop playing with them so I can try it out. Image

The software is great. You can adjust the volume of the pre-recorded drum kits, and I'm pretty sure you can import any sound file you choose as an additional instrument.

Did I mention they're all recorded in 24-bit audio? That's more than CD-quality, which is quite satisfactory.

That's assuming you're not talking about some Wii drum pad bluetooth software or something.

Actually, it's Drum Machine. It's free, and great software. You can change the WAV files for the drum sounds, and make recordings.

I can play basic drum loops, what would you want?

Is there a chance you could upload the mp3 for Raptor? It would be a lot easier to create a drum beat if I could overlay it on the actual song.

Nope.

I don't want to make it available for download until the final version is done. You'll notice I did that for all the songs. They're not near completion.

You can, however, record it using audacity or something. I know it's an inconvenience, but I hope you can understand my logic.

There's a version without drums I have, but nowhere to put it. Pure Volume limits me at 4 songs. Email me for the file.

Some things.

Do not distribute. Do not copy. Do not download or use for anything other than helping out with drums. When it's done to my liking, I will release a full, complete version for free download, as with all my songs. I'm simply asking you don't take a half painted painting and start making prints. Let me finish it first.

What kind of beats do you want? I might be able to make some decent ones, but they may phail, just like yours.

Might I suggest FL Studio? It's probably the most powerful, flexible music software available and it ROCKS.

Pretty good so far. The bass is ok. Just lower it a bit. It's way to loud, and set some of the presence down, its to high for my likings.

Don't worry, I'll fix all the EQ settings after I get speakers. Right now it's from laptop speakers, and the bass that loud is barely hearable.

Still stuck on the drums. Even something simple, basic, and mostly repetitive will do. I just want them to pick up halfway.
