FS: The XS64 -$140-

Post by ShockSlayer »

1st topic hit 2nd page, and things have changed.

It is up for $140, and that is negotiable to a small degree. With this price I am already losing a significant amount of money. I am not going to keep this portable and make it's case better, because I can not use this cash to make another one. I am at a very serious loss, and must have this money extremely soon...

Specs:
3 5mm(yes, 5mm)led modded PSOne screen
5000mah Ni-mh 7.2v externally mounted battery(ala 1st portable)
Pth08080 3.3v DC-DC converter(fixes all my previous portables problems.)
Super pad controller(GC joystick mod works now)
Headphone jack(thanks to Life of Brian's topic)
AV out/in jack(headphone jack with Left audio in and composite video)
Rewired cartridge slot (with metal supports to hold cartridge in place)
12v original n64 power adapter port(uses pth to get 3.3v)
Internal/external controller switch
Uses my excellent wiring diagram(never worry about wrong voltage going somewhere it shouldn't, will post later)
Charger port
Screen push click button switch(ala 2nd portable)
Expansion pack
Metal strips to hold case together on top.(ala 3rd portable)
Franken case A, B, C-pad plastic (nice and smooth)
Mounted Breadboard Tact D-pad and start button
Momentary Push button switch Shoulder buttons
Switch for L/Z
Triforce psp jewel(It had to go somewhere)
Self drilled(oh boy) speaker holes with mounted speakers
Internal fan w/switch
Wii joystick
2nd fan(on a switch)
L and R audio bridge switch(the av in jack only supports one speaker, this makes both play)
Added more supports to cartridge slot.(good idea bacteria)
Screen is currently externally mounted, will be moved back inside upon request(easier to access the vol and cont. and the ports)

300(in parts) -> 250 -> 210 -> 180 -> 140 :cry: :cry:

n64p

I cant buy it mysellf, but here is some advice. Most people here can build a portable for themselves, and if they do buy one, it is for the awesome design. I recommend putting it on ebay, there are people who dont even know about portables that would be thrilled to have a shot at buying it. good luck. :)

The pictures are right there, but only the strong of heart and trained of mind can see them. Weaker hearts and minds can't handle the truth, and simply block it out.

I understand your parents not liking ebay, but really, do they think that selling it to a random person on some forum whom they have never met before is going to be safer? People make ebay look like it is so risky, but anyone who knows their stuff will tell you ebay is THE place to safely buy stuff. And if someone does scam you, paypal will refund up to $200 of your loss, and then go after the scammer to try and get the rest of your money. For example, would it be safer to sell it to me, or someone withh 100% feedback on ebay? My parents were wary of ebay too until they actually bought some stuff. And....If you cant sell it on ebay, PM me. I know someone who works at an art museum that is having a video game art exhibit. This guy bought my custom n64 themed DS Phat, and i told him about the portabilizer scene, and he was very interested in a portable n64. I was going to sell him one, but i don't think i can get it done in time. So i will give you his email address if you want, you can tell him i sent you. :)

@Kurt_ ...was that really necessary? :P

I would sell it on ebay, but if it were to break, they couldnt consult me, as people here could. And anyone who buys it here could probably fix it themself, or could be shown how to. I've already fixed all of the problems, but I would still rather sell it here.

Sounds interesting.

If someone were to sell it on ebay for me, they would have to actually pay me the cash for it first, and they could sell it for more if they wanted.

If anyone is actually interested in buying it from me, then just say so, and we can probably work out some kind of deal.

Perhaps you could spell it out and read it to me slowly, and my weak mind will try and follow

Is this the unit we're discussing?

Dude, i feel for you. I would have bought it a year ago, but my n64p is coming along well. Go sign up at the offial nintendo forums and advertise it there. About the art musem guy...I showed him a picture, and he said he was sorry, but it was not "display quality". Sorry. And...Really, try to sell on ebay, you could easily get $250 for it.
