Hip Gear Screen in the UK

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Post by mattmagoo »

I know that numerous topics have been started on the Hip Gear Screen Pads

But I am having a little bit of problem finding them available to the UK without having to pay $70 shipping from the US

anyone know the best place to buy one to get delivered in the uK

cheers.

If anyone in the US was willing to recieve one from ebay, dismantle the screen and send it my way in a jiffy bag then i could compensate them for their troubles 8)

alternatively if anyone in the US has one for sale ....................

BTW, if anyone was wondering im building a NOAC into a Gameboy, with a famicom cart port on the back

Argos stocked them in one of the catalouges for the PS2 it was over £100 I think.

I got one from ebay.com and had a guy ship it to me to the UK, I think in total it was £50 including postage, it was a GC pad but I used it on my xbox.

Going to make a seperate thread now as I have a question on if it will still work after a recent motherboard bang!

I didnt think it mattered with Hip screens? I bought a screen from USA and it worked when I wired it into my PAL Xbox.

Not sure, the only screen I have worked with is a Hip Gear screen pad for a gamecube which I put into my xbox. I bought it off ebay.com and got the guy to send it out to me.

I need a new one though as the one I had was on my motherboard (but not powered) when I blew it up! the it probably still would work but I cracked the orange cable on it when I removed it from the board for storage!
