xbox dvd drive

Im fixing up a xbox, but the DVD drive works 100% of the time half of the time and sometimes refuses to open. So Im looking for either a new or used DVD drive for a original xbox. If you have a complete xbox unit that is broken but has a working DVD drive I would consider buying that too.

i have one somewhere i think, would have to look for it, working condition unknown but it should work. ill look for it sunday

Do you know if it is a Phillips, Samsung, or a Thompson DVD drive?

I've got a used Samsung drive that works quite well.

I've got two Xboxes with perfectly good drives. One's a botched modchip installation and has a Samsung drive, the other just gives error 16 and has a Thompson drive (I think)
