Which Phantasy Star?

Post by Mikeyman64 »

I'm thinking about backing up a few of my GCN games and I've read how to do it online. The only thing I can't get a clear answer on is which PSO game do I need to use? I don't know how many there are ( I really know nothing about the game), but all I know is that PSO 3 does not work.

The original version of PSO ep I&II for cube(not plus) is the best version to use. I&II+ and PSO 3 have hit and miss results.

You need the game(PSO), game you want to back up(duh) BBA for cube, and some sort of network connection. Then you need to run PSOLoader(or something like that) on your PC, and config PSO on your cube to connect to your PC's IP address.

I think I'm missing a few details, but that is the basics.
SNESp - 100%
Protable X - 15% - I need money :(

I've already read a good tut on how to do it. I just wasn't clear on the game version issue. Thanks.

CubeSoft's Pheonix Program is recommended for it as well, and yes it is PSO Ep 1&2 NOT PLUS version.

However, I recommend this instead as it is 100x easier and was created for backing up games and running homebrew.

If it does all that through USB, I want one, screw my modded Xbox, I want to use my Wavebird, not to mention I want to rent GCN games and rip them to play on my Wii, Like I do on my Xbox, with rented xbox games.

EDIT: Not worth it, It says you need a way to boot unsigned code to use it on a Wii/GCN.

And its around $40-50, I will just get a SDGecko adaptor and a action replay to boot unsigned code.

Hey, you should try selling your "tinkered with" box on craigslist. I sold mine for $250.

 Nice, though the Case on mine is in no condition to be sold. (It is chopped up, I thought it looked cooler in my head, then like 3 people asked me in 1 day, “What happened to your Xbox?”
in a negative way.

Was gonna order a crystal clear case from Divineo, but shipping for the case is $15 for expident or whatever, shipping, and $25 for airmail, so I said F*** it, if they are stingy with milking you $25 for a $5-$10 item, screw em.
Dealextreme has free airmail shipping from China, and their stuff is $5-$15 cheaper than everywhere.

Divineo = Fail

Modchip section = Solderless adaptors (No Wii/GCN/PS2/PS1/Xbox modchips at all.

That was only recently, however.

Just thought I'd let you all know: Good ol' sega shut down all the servers for PSO a long time ago, BUT now recently they shut down the server that handles the connection process. Now, guess what? Its impossible to connect to a private server. Which sucks. Although some good folks that love the DreamCast are making a bootdisc that will be inserted before the game is, and the disc handles the private server connection by itself. So in otherwords the disc handles the server issue.

Just thought I'd let you know that. I don't have a source on this info, but if you looked on google you could probably find an article. Also, get out and play Phantasy Star Universe, ye lazy bums.

I bought a Muppet-X xbox chip from them for $9.99. Best damn thing I ever did with that stupid system.

HotDog-Cart:

Check XLink Kai out. I know they have some 1080 Snowboarding and Mario Kart DD servers. Maybe even Kirby Air Rider.
