Anyone ever use a 40 Pin Male IDE cable?

Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

Anyone ever use a 40 Pin Male IDE cable?

Post by Nucklez »

I'm looking for a 40 pin Male IDE cable. I would prefer male adapters or both sides, but a male on one side and female on the other would have to work if it has too. I've been searching google, but the sites in the US seem to elude me at the moment. I've seen a few in other countries, but the shipping costs would kill me. What is need it for is the control panel on my new arcade cabinet. I want to be able to remove it, and I will need about 40 wires total by the time it's over with. I have a female IDE cable soildered to my keyboard encoder, but I need a male end to fit the control panel. I am either looking for a male cable, or a male that I could solder to a PCB. I've actually thought of desoldering some from some old celeron motherboards that I have laying around. Thanks guys!
