I have an account, all 16 or 17 of my friends are people I personally know (or knew), or know really well on the interwebs.

All I really do on MySpace is advertise my web forum & crap like that.

That, as it turns out, is a myth. Although the "loser crying kids" to "people that live their lives" ratio is a bit in the wrong direction, many NORMAL people use it. I know! I was shocked to find this out as well!

My CAD teacher has one, he is ~25, married, and a very cool person. The local paintballing league around here, everyone in it has one. They use it to communicate (somewhat) easily and post videos of their games. Lots of other very cool people I know of use it.

It's a silly message board type gimmick worth messing with if you have a friend or two who also has it. Otherwise it's pretty lame. Really, it's a lot like AIM, it's a crappy setup, there are better alternatives, but people use it anyways.

totally i have one and a facebook as an alternative to email since my generation is filled with mindless idiots who like posting comments to like prove to others that they do things or something? i dunno but i use it for messaging and solely that my profile says like nothing about me and i dont have pictures of myself either

Yep, thats why I don't have a myspace account.
I think I've only been to myspace a couple times, and thats because I followed a link to it, only to be disappointed.

i do not and never will have a myspace account, it is so freaking retarded and goes along with the whole "MTV generation" that seems to be developing, shallow retards who only care about wealth and popularity, myspace has ONE good quality and that is the fact that some cool bands have their music on there. one girl i know at school tried to make me a myspace account in the hopes i would use it, i reported it to myspace and had it shut down

No, think about it. If socializing sites like MySpace didn't exist, we'd be paying (whether by actual payment or by advertisement) more for stuff like image & video hosting, as there'd be no competition & therefore no need to lower the advertising or raise the standards.

File hosting hasn't cought up to it yet, but we ALL know what it's like to download something from rapidshare & similar file hosting sites. Pretty soon that neucance should go away as well.

I hate myspace too, but a lot of you sound like your Making crap up about it, I agree with the Peppy girls and Emos part though, but I see plenty of people with normal Social lives at school (or I assume have normal social lives) and use Myspace.

All myspace is, is a stupid fad that people blame for Suicides and Murders, and school shootings, Hell Myspace got my freakin' school locked down because somone on myspace threaten to bring a gun to school and shoot the guys that jumped him after school one day.

Myspace + School=BAD

Accually there should be more nerds on myspace to even out the annoying emos, and White/Black trash, notice I said white, I hate White trash just as much as I hate black trash.

Normal day at school, sitting in class bored and I over hear this about 3 times a day.

"Blah blah blah blah Myspace Blah blah blah"
"Hey I updated my Myspace"

Ughhh Make me glad I dont go to normal school, thankfully I go to night school now, but I hear the Myspace word used like at least once a week
