N64 Controller Help

Just asking that my controller is some sort of 3rd party and the start button has its own board, is this easier?, The start button has a slomo and auto fire button too, ill post pictures when my camera finishes charging.

check the board if there are not any extra tthings (such as caps and resistors) then it should be easier they have you wires already cut for you (and the slo-mo and other goodies should work in the same fashion)

Now I don't know about you personally but certin n64s and third party controllers never worked well with me...just personal experience may be a defect in the board or what but I had some problems with a Mad Katz controller and my original n64p (which is no a smoldering pile of slag) but I cannot speak for everyone else who has created fully functional n64ps with third party controllers

is the controller 'chunkier' than 1st part controllers, and made out of grey traslucent plastic? i have one like that with slo-mo and autofire, its the BEST CONTROLLER EVER!

Nope this was a newer model Mad Katz Controller that had rubberized grips that snapped off if you squeezed the Z button too hard, also the main board was very small and quite thin I thoughht is was a standard circuit board but I Have declared it fried since I had to try re-wirinbg it so many time, I think I made all the copper contact turn into air and drift away...

SOme are good, some are bad. Is it a Kirby crystal shards controller? Or a sharkpad?

ya i have the same 3rd party controller, so i just soldered the start button board to my good original n64 controller, it was pretty convenient.
