That makes me so angry and sad at the same time. What a horrible quality of life those whings will have. What are they based on anyways? What species are they? Is this real?!

the concept is cool but in reality its cruel

but then again its all moot seeing as it is quite obviously fake

they're years off being able to do anything remotely like this and even longer if it were ever cheap enough to do this sort of thing

If it was real, there's no way it could possibly survive in a plastic package like that. Also, for marketing reasons, I doubt that they would engineer it to look so ugly. If anything, they would make something resembling perhaps a phantasy animal like a Gryffin or something like that.

It's cool how professional they made the website look though.

Yes, it's a very, very well designed web site. I was one the verge of believing it before I actually payed attention to what I was looking at.

These things would have been several years ahead of their time if real. I am impressed with how well the website was made, and the ethical implications are interesting.

They would not meet all the requirements for life according to current definitions (the inability to reproduce). I would not consider such a product to be cruel, however, because these constructs would be serving their entire purpose.
