new look
I was looking at the forum http://www.will-burn.net/ and i realized that it was a phpbb forum like this one and it had a completely costumized look so i think we should customize our forum like they did

Oh, when he said more videogamish I was thinking of having each forum have the color scheme if the console.
Atari, some woodgrain, black and metal strips
Nes, the enternal bland gray and black
SNES, gray, purpule and darker gray (maybe black and silver if we include the Genesis)
and so on.

Modifying the style colors is pretty easy with the control panel. Making your own (decent-looking) style is pretty complicated... taking a new style that fits in with the site from phpbb.com is easy. Finally, making a new skin for each individual forum wouldn't be possible without a PHP hack, since styles are per-user based, not per-forum based. It would be pretty simple, though... (add a database field, and just have the forum check that when it loads the page)
Aside from styles, I think if the top of the page was just the options (FAQ, Search, Memberlist, etc.) and the logo/header was removed, it would work better. It already says Benheck while in the frameset, the phpBB logo doesn't fit in with the site, and it takes up room. Removing that would be easy to do.
Personally, though, I'm more worried about Ben using the <marquee> tag in the header. Deprecated HTML is not cool!

...roughly.
It would be adding a mediumint(8) field to the phpbb_forums table called "forum_theme", and filling in the theme id (from phpbb_themes) for each forum... then, where the forum default theme is loaded (in functions.php), it would have to be replaced with a lookup for the current forum (in viewing a forum, posting a thread, reading a thread, etc.), or if we're not in a forum, then the board default would be used. Finally, the code which loads a user's specified theme instead would have to be removed, along with the capability to update it in the profile and the field for it in the database.
It's possible, anyway... but someone would have to do the hacking, and someone would have the make the themes. The themes can be done by anybody, but editing the board can probably only be done by Ben, or Black Six if he's given him file access.
