project megadeath

Post by Gump-in-space »

Hello all! My first post!

Megadeath-

Built in first party controlls, 3" screen, Ni-Cd rechargable battery, (Maybe) Built in 32x. Sound like a good idea?

I agree. You should go with NIMH or Li-Ion. I'm using a nice 6A Li-Ion pack in my N64 portable. :)

well, my alternative is a heafty sealed lead acid rechargable battery.
I found two in my old electric scooter.

It said: 12V 4.5AH Would this be suitable?

Yeah, but I don't know if the power is devided between the two batteries on the scooter or if it will charge twice as fast.. sorry if I sound stupid but this is the first game system I've done this to.

Oh, and I forgot, I don't care what screen I use, 'cause it's going to run off its own batteries. Casio, not PSONE.

Do you need a screen? I have a Casio pocket TV I may be willing to part with.

Well I do need a screen, but I'm broke at the moment (you'll understand litterally how brok I am from the makeshift controller I have) and I probobly won't have money for a while, but how much?

Well, anyway, the hole I drilled is way too small for the thumbpad, so I threw in a dreamcast thumbstick. Later today I will test the charger. Also, the power on my system is kinda wierd so let me explain. There's the battery, which conects to the recharging port and a main chip, the chip connects to a switch that controlls the power, that switch goes back to the switch, which then goes to the Genesis. In short, the battery is permanent and cannot be disconnected, but a switch controlls the power. Rather than a plug from the battery being disconnected from the Genesis and to the charger, you simply plug the genesis into the wall and it starts charging.
