The bird flu is mostly overyhyped by the media, very few people get it, it's not airborn. If you're that worried about it, wash your hands after playing with bird poo, cause that's about the only way to get it, touching something that is tainted with bird poo and then either eating something or rubbing your eyes. Yes, it's more resistant to antiviral medications, but as long as you're not the very young or elderly you'd probably survive it if you got it.

actually the last great flu (around 1910-1920) killed young adults and middle aged and spared the old and young. This is because it causes you to die because you immune system works too much overtime. So basically and ironically, the better your immune system was the worse off you would be. And if I am not mistaken, that flu is very similar to the recent bird flu.

I am glad to contribute to the paranoia. Happy dreams.

Guys the best thing you can do right now, is read the news and keep in contact with your doctor. Ask him questions about what to look for and what to do. And don't get crazy. Keep cool and things will be fine!

Bird Flu is BS.

Period.

When there's a lull in the news they whip out Bird Flu. You know what? Who cares if a bird dies ;)

I'd care if the robin that made a nest outside my window did! I like her! I named her Anabelle. And her husband is Frank. And their kids are Devin, Sandy, and Chris! Er...

I get nervous when the doctors and medical peoples say it's transmissable to humans...

Anyone remeber SARC? And how that was blowup to be the new black plague. The thing is that only about 2000 people died. The media exagerates everything just to get rating.

Also to my knowledge the birdflu has not mutated to a human strain so really no one has to worry. Also the changes of it mutating to a human straigh are not that high. Going from a bird to human is a big gap to jump.

Also I hate this work Pandemic! What happened to the word epademic? And to compond the fact that a Pandemic better happen with something like the Spanishflu (which has been unheard of for 100 years), isn't going to spread that quickly. I've read and heard of the black plague spreading faster then any other disease, and without the help of jets and automobiles.

So if you think you're going to die, take a few deep breaths, and get a grip on reality. The birdflu is not going to spread over the land like locus.

From what I heard is that the bird flu has a rare chance of transmitting from birds to humans at least as of now. It takes thousands of years to happen, but its like the lottery really. There is that one chance it could happen, and it could wipe out a lot of people. In the meantime, I wouldn't worry until the news says its becoming an epidemic. There is no way one could prepare for it.
