Nice clean little diagram, but is it correct?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Note that it does not allow the N64 to be on while charging, but that's not an issue right now.

why are the a/v lines random pastel colours instead of r/w/y? lol.

i dont see anything wrong with it (he says after spending 10 minutes trying to find out which way a diode is labelled) except that your might not be able to run it off those tiny batteries.. what kind are they?

Ok, is this the correct way to hook up the charger switch?

@toby dawg: 7.2v/1.2v batteries=6 batteries, isn't it? It can run off of 7.2v.

I'm still not sure about the type of batteries I'm using. If I use bigger batteries like C batteries they will have to be on the back of the case, in something like an aluminum box/frame. I can stuff 6 AA batteries into the Battleship case.

The reason for the oddly coloured wires for the A/V is that I like to color code things. If I use red and black colours I might assume that it is power and ground connections. And yellow just doesn't show up very well on white, 'ya know?

Funny, I was researching charger circuits just before I saw that post. I'll update soon.

Can anybody else spot any potential problems? I hate screwing up things like this. I like to get it right the first time. 8)

EDIT: Forget what I previously said about that Ni-Cd battery. I'm going to stick with AA 'cause that's what I designed the portable with. Still need a charger though...

The SPST switch for the screen should be across the OUTPUT of the dpdt switch for the battery charger, or else voltage from the charger will go into the screen. =BAD. So put it on the bottom pin of the dpdt.

You don't need the SPST now unless you want to use one without the other.

Yeah, I'm going to keep it for power saving so that if I want to keep my game going but I need to leave for just a bit I can turn the screen off and save battery power. So, I think that I'm done with this thread. Now I need to find a charger and suitable batteries. Then I'm done with all my powering concerns. Thanks to everyone that helped out!

You can also save a bit of power by turning off the n64's 12v line, this does not affect the running game and does not cause any lockup of the system, and will save a few milliamps of power... just a thought
