Gamecube opening idea.
I've recently been given the challenge of fixing a friend's gamecube (the dog pissed on it). I have quite a bit of experience with the xbox, but this is my first endeavor with our fine equal length six sided friend (it isnt really a cube, is it...). Well anyway, I'm faced with the challenge of getting the darn thing open without ruining the case (too bad) and I don't feel like ordering the special bit. When I opened the N64, I just tore the sucker apart with my dremel and a little elbow grease. Now here is my idea. I want to hold some solder above the hole for the screw on the bottom of the case, and just melt it and get a good inch thick of solder down there, surrounding the screw. Then, heat it all a bit more, and shove something into it that I can use to screw the thing out. In essence I would be making my own screw driver. Any ideas, anyone tried this rediculous idea before? Thanks, later.
