I'm checking out ebay for a network adaptor for my trusty old big PS2. I want to play games online (I have cable broadband) and maybe for linking a HD up later.
I'll never use the dial-up on the thing, can I use one of the Go-Net BB only modems? Will it work or the HD as well?
Do I need the boot disk for the official Sony hardware? One of the auctions I was looking at said that the disk was not needed because many of the games will set up the BBA automatically. Is this true? The auctions on ebay that are missing the disk close a lot lower.

I just picked up another BB adapter for my wifes younger brother at eb-games pre-owned for 10 dollars and it too did not come with a disc.
They are right that most new games, even some of the old online ones will let you set up the BBA.
The Go-Net BB adapter wont let you hook up a hard drive as i believe it hooks up through a usb port? Not 100% sure on it.
Hope that helps for ya to make up your mind.
Peace
