Question! x2

Post by Jeff »

1. I have a Pentium III with 1 ghz sitting here. If I take my old hard drive from my Pentium 4, will it automatically adjust to all the settings (I doubt it but).

2. Can you say anything you may know on the situation instead of reading and leaving?

dunno, my dad put the case back on and chipped the motherboard.... (we got into windows with it on, the old PC had Windows 95, the new one had Windfows XP Home, as soon as we got it on, it read it look a USB stick, without even installing anything :))

You'll have to format it to Fat32 if it's NTFS, it doesn't automatically do everything for you. Jeez. :P

Wait, why? Its the hardware that doesn't support it? I thought as long as you had XP you could use NFTS...

Oh, as you said P3 I assumed you had an earlier OS. Yah it should work perfectly.

XP will ask you to re-register your OS, m$ just wants to make shure that they get all the money they can get. I put my XP hd into my nes pc to test it, it worked, but it was way to slow so i decided to go with win 2000.

They wont want you to reregister it. As they use your HDD serial number to validate your pc.

that is what M$ made me do, when it booted up xp said that major hardware changes had occured and that i had three days to re-register it or xp wont work anymore, and three days later it would only let me into the reregister menu
