I'm thinking about making an attempt at a "semi-N64P&qu

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

I'm thinking about making an attempt at a "semi-N64P&qu

I have been watching this place for over a year now, and I'm really impressed. I'm thinking about startin a somewhat N64P, which probably won't go very far, but I am interested nonetheless. I recently aquired an N64 for 5 dollars at an auction, with around 10 controllers that are in failry decent condition. (obviously no need to worry about my controller screwing up)

Well, what I am trying to attempt here is grab a third party GC screen off ebay for a low price, plug my N64 onto it, get it to run off bateries, throw that in a case, and not even have controllers internally built into the portable. I plan to just leave those so I can plug them in. No need to worry about moving the cartridge slot either.

I have seen some very bulky N64 portable before, but with my idea, could I get this to work in a substantially smaller build?

But my question is, does anyone suggest this? I'm in no mood to pull apart a Mini-Snes, which can get fairly high nowadays, and N64 would be very nice to get going.

And on a side note, how much soldering or de-soldering would I have to put in?

you'll have to solder the power stuff but that's it unless you want a huge video cable flopping all over the place. if all you want to do is set it down somewhere (like a road trip) and play it then i suggest it and could help you if you need help. there's a portable N64 guide at my site (click my WWW button) that could help, even though it's a handheld guide
