I was always a big fan of gecko guitars. Anybody remember the url of the site I'm thinking of? It's something along the lines of GuitarMoth.com. It had an awesome showcase with ideas worthy of a glance.
Warmoth.com

Has some awesome stuff, just insanely expensive.
I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

ah but do those knobs go to 11?

i got some plastic knobs that went to 11 free with a magazone recently, nice idea, too bad the free ones were not exactly the highest quality

My not just paint an 11 on and pretend? You can't go higher than 0 resistance, so 11 would just bump all the numbers down one. (volume 1 would be volume 2).

Never actually watched all of that movie.

It's using my LG Chocolate set to "economy" quality and 1280x960 resolution. It's only 1.3 MP, but still a very decent camera to be integrated into a phone.

Back on topic of the guitar, another *small* update. I filled any inperfections in the body today with bondo, and also recieved my tuners. They're Grover tuners and they're gold. I got a great deal on them on ebay, $25 shipped for BNIB. I got pretty lucky I think.

Me still likey! Very nice. I think you should do a stain or sunburst finish on the body, but that's just my opinion.

Btw, I'm doing a guitar project right now (relicing a Strat copy). Would anybody here be interested in seeing it when it's done?

Me would! Me would! (even though, if you've followed the rest of the thread, you'd know that I am not a fan of strats. lol)

As for stain/sunburst... that is officially a "no-can-do". Why? Because I've filled any imperfections in the body with bondo. Blue bondo. I guess I could do a sunburst over the bondo... but then again, I think it would look pretty "retarded". So, paint is the only good looking option I see right now. Thats what I wanted anyway :P

I was thinking that when I finish this guitar, I'd start another and do a natural-type finish on it. I don't know about you, but where I live (BC) the last few years we've been having a real problem with the Mountain Pine Beetle. Just drive down the highway and you'll see the death. The death of pine trees that is. Anyway, when the trees get infested with the beetle, part of the tree is stained blue as a deposit left behind by the beetle larvae. So, I was thinking of building another guitar using this "beetle-kill" pine as the body. I'm not sure of the tone properties of pine, but it might be an interesting project. And it would look AWESOME, with the blue streaks going through the wood. I dunno, just a thought... I may, or may not do it.

Cool, I'll make sure to post some pics of it after. Should take about a week more, maybe less.

Really early Telecaster bodies were made from pine. Apparently it has a very rich, warm sounding tone.
