UPDATE!!

Today, I decided to get to work on the electronics side, so I relocated each capacitor to the back of the board.

Haven't tried this yet, so might be a silly question; but as the NES and SNES parts of the Retro Duo board are separate, ie on different mini boards, can you run both systems independently on different portables, assuming of course you run power and controls to the NES board; or is the NES board reliant on the SNES board to work?

When I asked this a while back, the answer was that the NES half cannot run independently without a lot of extra work, if at all. :(

Quite a bummer, as that would make finding a small NOAC much easier, and giving you an SNES clone to boot!

Yes, I am pretty certain that both boards are required.

because of this, I have a very lonesome noac board sitting unused.

That makes me sad...poor little thing...All unused retro duo NOAC boards should be placed into a special place so they can feel useful :)

Thanks, but I might not be actually using it now. I discovered that the plactic was not as sturdy as I thought, and it split in half.
