man its huuuge! but that is ok bacause it will easier to fit in when it is cracked open and i arrange the cells.
i am very impressed with dealextreme, they said shipping would be 7-10 days and it came in 7. last time i ordered from them it took 4 weeks to arrive because unluckily for me the order was placed at the beginning of chinese new year so it wouldn't be shipped until it was over. so to have it arrive on time was nice as i anticipated many a day waiting.

well incase you are wondering it is a li-on 6000mah battery and i got it here: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.21964" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

well damn... my screen has died.
i turned it on after making no changes to it and it started billowing smoke. i believe some solder on my desk bridged some lines. i am a little sad but i will be buying a new one, a psone screen most likely.

i dont believe the screen is recoverable as the smoke coming from it has given me a headache. it was giving me some other problems anyway so i am not overly sad to see it gone. all the issues were from my noobishness, but this is a learning experience so i am not saddened by it.

on the bright side my rgb mod is still good as other screens will take rgb. and it is cool to be able to say my ntsc unit is playing pal games.

Was smoke coming from this part?

If so, it's repairable.
