PS360Wii Fanboy FTW!
This is stupid, this isn't going to do anything to influence his or anyone elses opinion about video games.

I'm not sure if the petition would stop him. After all it is a right of a US citizen to say what they like. First ammendment states free speech. Though I did sign the petition...

I usually try and avoid these topics, but I've gotta say what's on my mind on this one.
To put it bluntly, I think this is a very bad idea. Sure, lots of people "hate" Jack Thompson. Everything I've read about him annoys me, but I've simply brushed it off; emailing him or reacting in any way towards him isn't going to help at all. Putting up a petition like this is serious, and if your only reason for it is because it was fun to make, then you really ought to rethink it.
As far as the content goes, if you actually are looking to be taken seriously then the site needs to look serious. Things like "Email Hitler...err...Jack" are way out of line and could be interprated as harassment. The "By the way..." lines, especially the second one, throw away any credability and would only serve to give Jack another arguement regarding the "bad influence of games". In the petition itself, having an "Is Jeff Cool? :P" field completely blows off any reason for it to be taken seriously at all. And if you're trying to make this big, lacking any citation or credits for news articles certainly isn't going to help. Simply put, calling out a petition against a public figure is not something that should be taken this lightly.

Lightern up dude. Jeff just made this site for fun, and to make some sort of statement, and your getting all mad at him because its not proffesional enough for you. One of the most annoying things in the world, is when you post something important to you, and then some noob goes and makes fun of you. If you dont like it. say that in a sentence or two, and thats it. I know a lot of members dont like jeff for spamming and stuff, but dont just make fun of him, because you think hes an easy target, and everyone will like you for it.superdeformed wrote:I usually try and avoid these topics, but I've gotta say what's on my mind on this one.

Look why not just make it a site to keep track of Jack Thompson and this whole feasco.
Speaking of Jack, digg has a story about him and his quote unquote case. The defendants (RockStar, Wal-mart, and someone else) are working to have it impossible for the case make it to trial let alone have Thompson be able to practice law in Alabama. So if we're lucky the judge will see that the case is completely bull, if your unlucky they'll rule in favor of the pantives and playing violant videogames will make you look like a serial murderer before you pickup a weapon.
