Portable SNES

Post by Skipstone »

About how much Time/money would be involved in making a portable SNES?

Any help is greatly appreciated. And if this has been asked before, sorry.

I would imagine around 2 months from start to finish (if this is your first portable.)
The SNES seems to be the easier of all the systems, and you can grab one cheap on eBay, as well as a PSone screen from EBGames.com
Thos are the main money-eaters, so I'd estimate around $80 (If you don't have the tools (soldering iron etc) then expect around $20 more.
However, this is simply speculation from my rather limited experience. I don't think it is too far off the mark though.

First wrong forum. Biocstp or Spongebuell send it over to SNES.

Now as for the time, if you know what your doing it can take only 5-10 hours. But that doesnt happen often and it also depends on what you do to mod it. If you relocate the cart slot add about 4 hours on to that as thats a lot of desoldering and resoldering to do. Controller, if you completely rewire it then yes that adds time or even cut it into two or three pieces that takes maybe anything from 5 minutes to half an hour.
