GameGear, Video-Out

Post by DrRobotnic »

Hmm, People have thought of this before. But is it plausable?
THe smallest way to have a SMS portable is by using a GameGear, using the MasterGear, and adding a PSone screen (Because GG screens are crap!). Hmm, plausable?
THe problem i seem to have is getting video out of the GG. However, someone has done an RGB version. But is there an easier way to get out composite video without designing a RGB converter to add to the portable?

Thanks in advance

James :)

sorry, but I believe you have to build the chroma decoder board like Mr horton did (Or was that with something else?)

Anyway, sorry, you cant grab composite off that board. :(

The GG is like a Game Boy, there isn't a point on the board where youc an solder a composite-out lead to. You'd have to reverse-engineer the screen controller, which is anything but easy. :(

The Nomad, on the other hand, only needs a chroma decoder board to accept a composite signal input, and IIRC it has AV out... but there's no Master Gear-like device for it. :(

(Plus the Nomad screen sucks anyways because it's not TFT :P )

Actually there is a TV tuner for the GG, which can get a AV out feature.
