thanks a bunch. i need a little higher res though i need to see more of the cartridge slot. the reason why is i had this idea that instead of prying off the cartridge slot and having to solder all those wires from it to the board, why not just dremel off the whole cartridge along with the board it was attached too and just solder the traces which should be plenty fewer than the number of wires needed to relocate the slot.daguuy wrote:
sorry about the low-res, but that's actually one of the best pictures my camera's ever taken

thanks. it was just an idea, i havent ever seen an n64 mobo in real life so i didnt know if it was multilayered or what. i guess ill stick with attempting to solder those wires. ill look around for the answer to this in just a second, but what type of batteries would you reccomend? NiCad's, NiCd's, Ni-Mh's or what. I've been browsing around radio shack and i am thinking about using two of these battery packs:7.5V 2000 mAh Ni-Cd

i think you can just pry it off, but its a little unorthodox because your risking pulling/messing with the traces. the ends of the traces may pull off along with the slotdaguuy wrote:wait i sec, you can take off the cart slot without desoldering? how? you don't want a nicad, those suck horribly. get NiMH

NiCd is the proper shortcut for Ni-Cad, which is crappy compaired to NiMH. Check the batteries guide on PoD.
