I've just aquired two dead PS2s, what does one do with such things? They both have dead CD-ROMS (what a surprise)
Maybe I can burn them and film it, to get me some street cred (they don't LOOK broken lol)
Or maybe I can stuff them full of spiders, dunno. What you think?

Have you tried cleaning the laser-disk-thing-lense-thing? It may just be dirty.

well, first of all this should be in the ps2/xbox/gc forum
....and second of all, you can get replacement disc drives
...you can then proceed to sell one for more than the price of the disc drive, at least
...
this place might have 'em...
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

naa 100% dead CDs, completely fcuked. one doesn't even have a tray, other one the laser is melted.
EDIT:
Ok maybe a little bit of exageration, basicly they don't read disks. One of the trays comes off sometimes aswell. If anybody wants them let me know, bearing in mind I'm a UK based human.

shame about me being in UK is right, damn.
A silly question maybe, but is it possible to run a PS2 and play games without using a CD drive? I.e. like you can with a modded XBOX?

i know there is a harddrive attachment for it and i vaguely remember a home made one. also i think you can get a ata-usb connector, power the harddrive and just plug it in.

Are either of these mini PS2's? I really need the orange cable for the DVD drive, and would pay for it.
