what i do is buy a cheap, decent vehicle that is totally different from everything else on the road. the ps3 might have everything beat in hardware specs, but it costs about half what i paid for my car, it looks like a lean mean fat grilling machine, and its controller is fugly (even tho its a "prototype") plus i oathe sony anyway, they brougt a great console (the DC) to an early death with their sucky ps2.

PS3 wont even come close to the specs announeced. Remember with the PS2 the Sony dudet man guy said that the graphics would look better than those of Toy Story. For some reason (*cough*look below*cough) i seriously doubt that :roll:

Everyone is throwing back and forth specs, features, and controller designs, but everyone has failed to realize THE GAMES! Whoa! They're going to make a basketball game WITH SWEATY PLAYERS, and whoa look its a WWII SHOOTER WITH ANTISCOPIC FILTERING AND 836BILLION VERTICIES! I've NEVER played a WWII GAME! WHOA! A RACING SIM WITH THAT MORNING HAZE EFFECT WHEN THE SUN RISES! I could care less seriously, bring it back to the games. Wheres the innovation? And no I don't mean changing the way we play games (looking like a monkey swinging a remote control all over the place). The industry is going MTV on our most precious past-time, and a lot of people are buying it.

There is a difference.
I prefer to use the term, quality over quantity. The Ps3 no doubt has the best hardware. that is not argueable that the xbox comes next, and last, the revolution. Thats not my opinion.

However, I honestly dont care if the boxing guy wiggles his jaw oh so perfectly when you punch him. I dont care if people dont look Real, (And they still never do!)

For example, when It comes to football games, I prefer NFL Blitz 2002 to practically EVERY other football game. It was really fun! the only game to beat it was the n64 one.

As a matter of fact, I think no doubt that super smash bros melee graphics beat every PS2 games graphics Ive ever played.(and they cost less!)

(oh I dont have much to say about xbox, I just think theyre ok and they are trying to crush the ps3 with its peculiar release dates.....)

Another non-opinion: the ps2 has tons of games, the gamecube having not so many.

Why do you think you see 3 rows of ps2 games and 1/2 of one of gamecube games? Honestly, I dont know. I think blockbuster also needs to actually get some games that people like for gamecube. I didnt see one copy of smash there, But I did see like 5 copies of Amazing island.. :roll:

As for graphics yet again, I saw previews for Resident evil 4 for ps2. And Ive played the gamecube version. The graphics wouldnt amount to those of the cube. They are smooth, and loading times are limited.

So what does that junk have to do with next-gen consoles?

As an opinion, id be satisfied with gamecube graphics, or even xbox for that matter. Even the note that the graphics would be better means every thing is going to be Even smoother

As for controllers, The PS3 made a mistake, as did the revolution. The PS3 Boomerangs are mock offs of PSone and PS2 controllers, now even harder to hold.

But the revolution, they saved their problem. I Learned that the remote will almost never be alone, It will be held in a shell of a controller that holds easier. Want to play goldeneye? Slip it in the N64 shaped shell. Playing SSBM? Use a real gamecube controller or slip it in the gamecube shell!

The final results.....

Graphics: Ps3 = biggest jump
Xbox= nice jump
revolution= small jump

Good graphics makes good games?
PS3 = YES!
Xbox = Pleads the 5th and leaves this conversation...
Revolution= No. Games arent meant to be what some people made them become. (AHEM! San andreas getting mocked on live television, several times...)

Price
Ps3 = several hundred dollars, Over 500
Revolution = 200$ and under

Appeal
Ps3= sadly, big price usually means it makes people think higher quality..
Revolution= the message hasn't changed. having fun and experiencing new ways to play should be the target.

Last...

So I'm nintendo biased. So what? Yeah, I'm only going to buy a revolution and be happy. You can go buy whatever you want, I'm just saying my main opinion. Ive been with nintendo since the beginning and its staying that way. [/i]

Its all about the games!
Note, dont flame me, thats my opinion. And dont flame expecially if you didnt read it all....

(thats why this was split...)

I honestly couldn't give a turd about the latest and greatest consoles. I rarely play games on my PS2 (mostly use it for video). The latest system I actually use is my PSX, and even that isn't used very often. My favorite system (after PSone) is the Genesis. Just can't beat the side-scrolling simplicity of Sonic 2 and the newspaper-as-a-deadly-weapon shennanegans of Paperboy II. :lol: Good times, good times.

So what if you can see Bill Elliot's face in the car as he's flying 200mph around a racetrack? It's the GAMEPLAY that matters most! If you start with a good, unique idea, then you can make a good game out of it. But if you just polish up a piece of crap, then all you will wind up with is shiny crap. ( I mean just look at Windows Vista!)

the dreamcast was good but it wasn't sony's faught that they did not put in a dvd drive. some of the games are better than toy story. and nintendo games are kiddy and gay.

Nicely said bioniclebert *high-fives*
But to be fair its a little easier to render the characters in SSBM, than it is to say render Solid Snake. For example most of the characters consist of only a couple colors, simple outfits, and a lot of characters wear hats (no hair textures), however in the MGS series every little bit of Solid Snake is modeled hair, scruffy appearance, the mullet, all the ammo packs, the skull suit, each weapon model is nicely detailed, and thats not even mentioning how detailed the environments are (Snake Eater is pretty amazing). The GC does sport some spiffy graphics in RE:4, but the PS2 is quite old, and if it can even remotely keep up with the cube you've got to give it some props.
EDIT: It also wasn't Sony's fault that they were able to sell they're console at $299 instead of DC's $349 at a loss. The DC had many great games, and while I do miss it, I'm glad I don't have to buy another console to play certain games (Soul Calibur, Jet Grind Radio). That is until Microsoft got JSRF, and suckered me into buying one.

We could go back and fourth about this for years so after this post I'm going to restrain myself from replying again.
I just have to say that I'm going to have to disagree with you about the XBOX. I'm sure that I am not the only one out here that was really dissapointed with Halo 2 (come on nobody is going to hurt you, you can tell us). Not to mention Unreal Championship 2 (the beautiful FPS was turned into a mindless hack 'n slash). Really everything on the XBOX is on another system in a diffrent, and better form. Has anyone played Red Faction 2? Yeah its better than Halo 2, because Halo 2 couldn't decide if it should have a monumental single player, or a perfect multi-player experience. So they decided to do both half-uhh bottomed. What about Metroid Prime? I like it more than Halo's 1 and 2. Even though its not really a FPS. The GC has... well it has SSBM, Mario, and Zelda (although I never liked the 3d ones). Basically the XBOX to me is a watered down version of a gaming platform suited for the masses. This generation, to me, was about which console you had to make the least sacrifices for. No DVD player, no games, and too many games. So I settled for too many games, because a good one should come around sometime, right?
