It's a 2.3" screen, with plenty of resolution to make up for the smallness. The cartridge will be fine, since you won't be playing it completely horizontal in front of your eyes. And well, if you do play your game systems that way, you're weird :P

Right now I am busy sanding off the paint from the screen case. The primer messed up and I didn't notice so the paint looked bad.. So now I have to sand it smoth and paint it again... This is like what happened with my NES p0cket. WHY CAN'T THINGS JUST WORK RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! :x :P

That type of plastic is a pain isn't it? You could make some snazzy belzels to cover some of the flaws.
BTW: How did you do your power supply for N64P? Was it exspensive?

Oh man is it!!! I had to get a special type of plastic primer/superglue for it, special paint primer for plastic... Bleh!

What's a bezel? A weird pretzel? That won't really help any... :P Care to elaborate a bit?

On my old N64P's I used a sony walkman DCC-E345 (I have it memorized, holy crap!) it wokred fine for me, but others complained of graphics/sound distortion (small lines across the screen). I never noticed any of it though. Just for the heck of it, I'm gonna try some 3.3V regulators first. If they work well, I'll use them, if not I'll use the car adapter.

I went to all the thrift stores, and guess what? I can't find any more sturdy VHS cases! All they have is these wimpy bendy ones :( So I guess if I want to mass produce this I will have to come up with another design (and I think I have a winner already!). Don't worry I will still finish this one :)

Well what I mean by a bezel (really only a term for watches and clocks, but hey it describes this pretty well) is to "frame" the LCD and the controls. You can do this by cutting out some pieces of thin plastic and gluing them to the surface of the portable. This not only covers up any flaws you may have, but also adds a lot of style to your portable (I had to resort to this method for Jeffslot's SNESP). Here is a picture to illustrate the idea.

Basically its like Ben's risers, but they add no depth. They only add to the apperance of the portable.

Thanks but the bondo actually looks pretty good, and I made it stick to the plastic with superglue on the edges. Actually the bondo already stuck but if the plastic bent to a certain point it would come loose, now it won't.

Project status: Sanding off old paint on hip gear case. While I'm at it, I'm bondo-ing a few parts that don't look right. Got magnets for battery door and they are being superglued right now. I'm really starting to get excited here! It's been quite a while since I made a really fun portable (That NESp was hell, I tell ya!)
