(Thank you for not capitalizing the "f" in my name. You don't know how much that means to me :P )

Honestly, I am not sure about the price yet. What I would like to do is put it on ebay, that way I could get the highest price I can, and make even more N64P's! But if for some idiotic reason ebay won't let me sell there, then I suppose I would sell it for $150-ish or best offer. Maybe even do an online bidding thing in chat. But I really want to do the ebay thing. It prevents me from getting somehow scammed, and just makes it easier.

While I am at it I'll give a little update. I have everything superglued on the case, ready to paint. The only thing I need to do before that is buy and put on some magnets to hold the battery doors shut.

I have another question for all you guys (and girls if there are any. And there really isnt so oh well...). I found a way to put a D-pad AND the R button in and make it work very well with the design. Now I just need to know which D-pad people prefer, the PSX D-pad or the original NES D-pad?

I am ordering some 3.3V 1.5 Amp regulators as soon as I get some cash flow (Current account = $0). So this will be taking a bit longer than I thought.

And as for the magnets, Radio Shack was out of the exact thing I need as always! Now I have to go to all the other stores looking for some.

You know those TO-220 heatsinks from radio Shack? Those are what I am planning to use for the N64 heatsinks, since they fit perfect. But I didn't really notice that there is a small hole for screwing in the TO-220, do you think this could hurt the heat flow at all? I wouldn't think so, since the original heatsink had gaps in certain places and it worked fine. Perhaps I could find some on Digi-Key without holes. I'll have to check that out...

How much are those regulators you're getting?
I was looking at building a n64/psone lcd power supply that used a 3.3V dc-dc converter and an upgraded 5V LDO, total cost of that would be ~$10

They are $2.42 each, 3.3V 1.5Amp LDO Regulator. But I am very interested in a 3.3V DC-DC converter, as they are supposed to be more efficent. If you are going to be making some, I would love to get my hands on the first batch :)

ARIIIISSSE old thread! :P

Time for a little progress showing. But first! I changed the design for the entire thing. Now it will have:

- Memory card connector
- D-pad
- L button (WOOHOO! Who cares!)
- GOLD paint job (Everybody: OoOH! That will be like..totally Goldeneye!)

Here are some pics of it so far. Not shown are the painted parts (screen, button halfs, battery lids, etc.)

Image
The front (stop looking at my crotch nos...). Notice the bondo-ed d-pad and right hand buttons. Also, see those two holes on the bottom, pushbuttons go there, the left being the L button, and the right button being start.

Image
The insides (just to show that it will actually fit with some cutting)

Image
The back. Missing battery lids and other half of SNES button right now.

Now, how am I setting up the d-pad to work when there is only one button on the backside? It's pretty smart I think. I'm gonna have a switch for the L and Z button. Flip it and they reverse posistions. Meaning the Z button becomes L and L becomes Z. Eh, eh? Pretty smart? *clap clap* Thank you, thank you, I'm in town all week.

Now it may not look like I have much done, but don't let the pics decieve you! It's just a paint job away from looking excellent.

More updates as I get more done! Any suggestions, please tell me.

looking good :D!! gotta ask you something, though....what's that stuff you put around the edges of the controller/analog stick/dpad holes?
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Bondo marine epoxy putty stick. (I got mine from Wal-Mart for a buck or two) It's awesome stuff, you jsut cut it off the stick, knead it, stick it in the crack, let it dry, and sand it. Repeat if needed. Very easy to work with. It dosn't astick to well to this kind of plastic though, so I will have to put some special plastic superglue around the edges to insure it stays.

Phew! I thought you had given up on it!

Very good stuff G-force. The case appears to be very neatly made. With the paint it should look high quality!

Nice!
