wow, am I the only person to think that $99.99 is a fair price for this? It's small enough to wear like jewelery, has interchangable faceplates, and the best screen ever to wear the gameboy name. Not to mention the largest selection of games of any handheld system--and a few I even want to play. I can't really say that about the other, more powerful, handhelds out.
I spend so much time with my orig. gba (on my 3rd), that I really don't think much about dropping a Benjamin on a new one if my eyes can relax a little bit more. It just seems like GBA has a game for whatever weird mood I'm in... I literally kill a couple hours a day with it.
yes, I am a fanboy. But it's not like I don't own most of the rest of the systems, I just love my GBA more. It's small enough to take with me--and now it won't even bulge my pocket. With the SD adaptor, it is unstoppable, I'll play it for another 5 years... I've never understood why people gave up on it...why release the DS nintendo? you had so many gba owners in your pocket...

Stop taking everything so seriously. You don't have to bring up and criticize every little misstake people make.

They had to release it, just think about how much money they would have lost to sony if they hadn't, I mean seriously, it would have trippled the PSP owners and all the GBA owners would get is a old system revamped.Reaperman@home wrote:why release the DS nintendo? you had so many gba owners in your pocket...

[sarcasm] And it really worked for them didn't it. [/sarcasm] Well, you did point out that Nintendo is following in Sega's footsteps. Didn't I tell you Nintendo is the new Sega.guys guys guys! dont even worry about it, SEGA made a trillion different Genesis spin-offs. I have a feeling there are going to be more GBAs. You can count on that

SO ANYWAY, I didn't see the big deal about releasing another Gameboy Advance. I mena, for that size, it had to be small. I figured it was made for the popular kids and the poorer families.
But for $130? Wtf? You can buy a DS for the price (Starting in a few days buy still), and the DS is much better. Sure, the GBM has a slightly better screen, but whatelse? No backwards compatiblity. And, needs an adaper for other things.

$99.99 is the price I heard, I think it's been edited into the initial post.Conn wrote:But for $130? Wtf?
You're right, for only a few dollars more the DS is a better option than a $130 GBM. at that price I'd be the only one who'd ever buy one
and maybe a handful of other guys out there who are on the "software discount program" who don't care so much about hardware costs.

I don't see why so many people get angry when Nintendo makes new variations of old consoles. Nobody's forcing you to go out and buy it. Nintendo makes new handhelds because it works for them. The GBO, the GBP, and GBC were all basically the same thing. The GBC had color (which was a great addition), but the pocket didn't improve upon the GBO at all, except for size. This is basically the same thing with the GBA line. Nintendo is doing what works, and they're making a TON of money. I saw a recap of the console wars on some website, and it turns out that nintendo actually made more money that Sony and Microsoft, even without their handhelds. The same goes for rehashes. All of you say that you hate rehashes, but you know what? People buy them. Lots of people. Enough people that Nintendo rereleases tons of games to satisfy them. If the Micro fails horribly, you know what they'll do? They'll learn from their mistakes and they won't make 50 zillion DS's.
Nintendo is doing what works. Why change?
