resistor question

for less power consumption, is it better to use higher or lower ohm resistors? or does it not matter

it doesnt matter, but a higher wattage resistor will have better heat dissapation. higher wattage resistors are a little bit bigger than regular ones though.

im one of the few here that know more than whats on these forums... If people just ask a proper question more often, im sure more people would give answers as well. And in between helping the few that really need it, i try to be an angry, nasty, drunken bastard. ;}

EDIT: Resistors, and Ohms law is usually one of the first things you need to learn to work in electronics. If you dont know it, i really suggest you do. Its not that hard, its as easy as P.I.E.

ok thanks, what Iadj when calculating which resistors i need to use, i have the lm3117t regulator from radioshack im hooking up

I is the letter for current in a circuit. You dont need to put in the current for the adjust pin (Iadj) unless you want to know what the current will be across the other pins. Its relly not needed, as the device you are using will pull as much available current as it needs to operate.
