Not trying to start a flamewar, but this is one thing that may save the PSp. At about $150, people will be much more likely to buy one of these things.

yeah I'm definitely getting the DS, 'cause I know that the games are (or at least, better be!) good. with the price drop of the PSP I'm more likely to get it, but I'm getting the DS before PSP.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

unfortunately this low price may very well mean nintendo will no longer be able to compete in the handheld market...or any market.
I was never a big nintendo fan in my youth. Not until Atari/Sega/Snk stopped making hardware. It's my view that nintendo is now the only company left that has *any* desire to create a unique videogaming experience. not that they've even done a great job of that lately--like launching their new portable with an FPS--come on, they're all the same game...
will I buy a sony psp? It looks like I will have to if I ever want to play a portable game system again.
I guess I'll always have my portable xbox (pocketpc)

I'm not a nintendo fanboy but I want the pspwned by nintendo. I'll probably get both with that low of a price.

The warppipe forums there is a lot of info about the ds and demasked psp.

getting both systems is exactly what sony is hoping we do.
They know nintendo has a 6 month advantage, but dropping psp prices they'll get a psp into every home in the country that owns a nintendo ds and then some.
Afterwards, the volume of games (generated with the help of 'sony exclusive' contracts) and the limited ammount of pocket space (one system)--dualscreen will be forgotton by this time next year.
I don't want to see nintendo go away either. Rather I want them to see them show sony that 15 years in the portable business means something. But remember how sega "went away" under very similar circumstances?
you'll see mario licensed and released on a sony system within 2 years.
Either that, or nintendo will be forced to retreat even further to the 'tv game' industry.
